A user expressed concern about their therapist recording sessions without prior consent or notification. They want a feature that requires therapists to inform clients about any recording of sessions, ensuring transparency and consent.
Is this common? I’ve been doing virtual therapy via Google chat and I noticed the therapist every time when the call starts says “call is being transcribed by Google Gemini” or something. She never informed meant this or asked permission, and it’s not mentioned in my consent paperwork either. It seems kind of weird & intrusive. Plus how can she guarantee she’s not going to be hacked? I assume Google is saving everything I say on there, just like they saved the Nancy Guthrie nest footage even though she don’t have a subscription plan. Opinions?
