User experienced account lockout without valid reason and suggests that Meta should enhance the review process and provide a clear manual escalation pathway for genuine users.
I want to share my experience to alert other small business owners who are building their sales channels on Facebook Marketplace. My Marketplace access was suddenly locked for “fraud and deceptive practices” — something I have never done. I have never scammed anyone, never taken money improperly, and never violated Marketplace rules. I contacted support more than four times. I submitted multiple appeals. I received calls from support representatives. However, none of them were able to reopen my Marketplace or give me a clear explanation. The final response was basically that there is no further pathway to review the decision. If you are building your business portfolio, customer base, and reputation on Facebook Marketplace, please understand the risk: * Your account can be flagged automatically. * You may be locked out without clear evidence. * There may be no effective escalation process. * Support teams may not have the authority to reverse the decision. If this happens after you’ve spent months or years building your presence, you could lose your sales channel overnight. That can seriously damage your business. I recommend diversifying your platforms and not relying entirely on Facebook Marketplace for your income stream. Build backup channels (website, other marketplaces, email lists, etc.) so your business is protected. I hope Meta improves its review process and provides a proper manual escalation pathway for genuine users. Stay safe and protect your business.
