The user suggests that TNT should have fixed their app to be more user-friendly, implying that the current app has usability issues. They also mention that the Max app requires a separate payment even for cable subscribers, making it less accessible compared to platforms like Prime Video.
@thestoptv No what happened was in 2022 I believe (correct the year if I’m wrong) but the CEO of Turner said they don’t need the NBA …fast forward to now the NBA was looking at TNT as an outdated streaming platform in comparison to NBC (peacock) and Amazon (prime video) which is almost in every household with reliable WiFi. That’s why TNT was mad the NBA still sided with prime after they matched the offer. The NBA has had piss poor ratings and viewership over the past few years and it’s a combination of the product on the court but also reach and access. I believe if the Turner CEO never said they didn’t need the NBA and if they actually fixed the TNT app so it actually worked and was user friendly the NBA might’ve took their offer match The Max app doesn’t have the reach nor the accessibleness because you have to pay for it even if you have TNT through a cable provider. So the NBA views that as a negative. Turner thought they were bigger than the NBA not the Inside the NBA crew
