User desires a clear, standardized certification system for cosmetic ingredient safety, similar to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for textiles. This would help consumers easily identify products free from harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, phenylenediamine, and parabens, prioritizing chemical safety.
The title pretty much covers it. Is there a certification for the safety of Cosmetic ingredients standards like there is for clothing with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100? I was looking to buy some creme online, but then the ghosts of Formaldehyde, M- and o-phenylenediamine, and parabens came to haunt me. With clothing I pretty much just make sure it meets the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (there is also OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN, but STANDARD 100 is the chemical safety one) and then buy it. Is there something like that with cosmetics? p.s. I care about the environment, but my priority is chemical safety.
