A user in Nigeria is unable to access their First Bank account or online banking from abroad due to password issues and an expired card. They wish the bank would make it easier for Nigerians to manage their accounts remotely without needing to visit a branch.
After a few months of moving to Nigeria, I tried to log into my bank of America app and couldn't access it because I had forgotten my password. I do not use my password to log in, I use Face ID instead, so that made me not remember my password. I called customer service, and they asked me some security questions and boom… I had access to my bank account. I could do it online too but, I chose to call. Now, I am away, and I no longer have access to my First Bank account or online banking, I called customer service and the person I spoke to said to expect an e-mail and no email from them came through. I sent them an e-mail afterward but all to no avail. I can't log in using the app because my card is expired. I can't transfer money even if I tried using ussd. I wish they would make it easy for Nigerians to not have to go into the bank to do anything as simple as what I explained. They make us go through all these security processes yet, accounts are getting hacked and fraud is being committed every time.
