A user highlighted the high costs of family insurance plans and is seeking recommendations for better options. They suggest that insurance companies should provide more affordable plans for families to help manage costs effectively.
Hello everyone, I hope that you are doing well. I recently started a job as an ESP engineer which required me to move to midland, making 6k monthly during my first 3 training period then I would be making 7k after training The job is great, the people are awesome but the insurance plans are terrible. we are expecting a baby late this summer, I'm paying 978$ monthly for me and my wife, after we get the baby I will be paying 1680$ monthly. and the family deductible for the insurance is 10k. Rent and live expenses are high, we are not eating out, not buying clothes, got no furniture, trying our best to save for the baby's delivery. my net pay is 4387$ so I hardly have anything left after the end of the month. I was thinking of talking to my boss and asking for a raise that helps with the insurance or asking him to have more duties that I may be paid for. Am I overreacting or is the insurance that bad ? in my previous job, people in the same scenario as me are paying 400 monthly and 4.5k family deductible. if anyone has any recommendation that would come handy, please share it.
