User wishes there were more physical stores where they could test out standing desks before buying. This is particularly important for assessing stability at maximum height, which is a common concern.
I'm in the look for finding the **best standing desk** from a long time, but this time I'm actually thinking of making the move. It really comes in handy to stay mobile, reduce sitting time, improving posture and from what I've seen it does help burn a little bit of calories than sitting and supporting weight management. Now standing desks have different **Motor Types (Single vs. Dual)** * **Single Motor:** Cheaper, generally has a lower weight capacity (around 80kg), and can be a bit slower/louder. Most desks in the -15K range are single motor. * **Dual Motor:** More powerful, faster, quieter, and more stable. They support more weight (100kg-125kg+) and are less likely to struggle. Now since I'll most likely use just a laptop and basic things I might be fine with the single motor one. **Motor warranty places a role too, this is something some brands have advantage over.** **Height factor (important) - It’s all about 2-Stage vs. 3-Stage Legs.** This is the main technical difference that affects stability at height. * **2-Stage Legs:** These are found on almost all budget desks in the 15-20K range, they have one telescoping section and a maximum height of around **118-120 cm** (approx. 46.5-47 inches). * **3-Stage Legs:** These are found on the premium desks (that cost 30K+). They have two telescoping sections, which allows them to extend higher and, more importantly, be **much more stable** when they are fully extended. From my research I've found that. a 6'0" person needs a standing desk height of about 45-47 inches. With a 2-stage desk, this means I would be using it at its **absolute maximum height**. Any desk is going to be at its wobbliest at its highest point. A desk that feels rock-solid when you're sitting can become a shaky mess when fully raised. So height is one of the biggest factor and I wish we had more stores were we can test out the standing desks before buying. **Now comes the most important question: what to get?** * Of course there's [Ikea ](https://www.ikea.com/in/en/cat/standing-desks-55008)with many offerings, unfortunately it doesn't deliver in every region and not in mine too and since I'm making post for everyone to enjoy, most of us won't be able to use that * [The Sleep Company has some options ](https://www.amazon.in/s?k=standing+desk+sleep+company&i=kitchen&crid=22EB4X7RV4Q55&sprefix=standing+desk+sleep+compan%2Ckitchen%2C213&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)\- I have got mixed reviews from r/India and r/IndianGaming about it and wondering if there are some users here. Warranty is 2 Years. * [Green Soul](https://www.amazon.in/s?k=standing+desk+green+soul&i=kitchen&rh=n%3A976442031%2Cp_85%3A10440599031&dc&ds=v1%3A6KGueX%2BiUjfWlJfEqtjBaB9HmnC2LQR1T9ybz87S%2FfQ&crid=1IZUUDP69QLWG&qid=1760853271&rnid=10440598031&sprefix=standing+desk+green+soul%2Ckitchen%2C214&ref=sr_nr_p_85_1) \- now this is one I'm currently thinking of getting as the company has been there for some time and reviews are more or less positive from what I've seen. Considering their [Trigger ](https://www.amazon.in/Green-Soul-Multipurpose-Adjustable-Ergonomic/dp/B09MLY3CJZ/)one that's currently going for like 13K with card discounts and stuff, but of course I'm looking for reviews too. Warranty is 3 years, maybe the motor is just 1 year though. * [ARTIKEL ](https://www.amazon.in/s?k=standing+desk+ARTIKEL&i=kitchen&crid=160AMU091NZEL&sprefix=standing+desk+%2Ckitchen%2C229&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)is another one that I've seen on Amazon, looks like a cheaper option. New company for me so I don't know whether to trust it. Warranty is 3 years as well. * [Jin Office ](https://www.amazon.in/s?k=standing+desk+jin+office&i=kitchen&crid=CV1EOG5L0TWT&sprefix=standing+desk+jin+offi%2Ckitchen%2C217&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)\- I've seen some users from r/IndianGaming using it and positive reviews are there. They have 3 years as well. * Then there's costlier options like Monarch, ErgoYou and Featherlite, which honestly I don't wanna consider as they are like 30-40K to start. * Some people have suggested to get it custom build, but thats another hassle honestly with finding the right person, the motor or even get it repaired later. Let me know your thoughts.
