Developers need an AI-first IDE specifically for SQL databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL that allows easy connection to local databases and data analysis through simple prompts, similar to tools available for developers.
I was just wondering — developers have tools like Cursor, but data analysts who work with SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL still don’t really have an equivalent AI-first IDE built specifically for them. My idea is to create a database IDE powered by local AI models, without relying on cloud-based models like Claude or ChatGPT. The goal is simple: users should be able to connect to their local database in one click, and then analyze their data using basic prompts — similar to how Copilot works for developers. I’ve already built a basic MVP I’d love honest feedback on the idea — feel free to roast it, challenge it, suggest improvements, or point out what I’m missing. Any advice that can help me improve is welcome 🙂
