User reports long wait times and unresponsive beg buttons in Toronto. They suggest improving button responsiveness, ensuring pedestrian phases activate even if the button is pressed late, and making buttons more conveniently located and accessible for people with low mobility.
In Toronto during 1.5 hours bike commute, I can easily spend 25+min ideling on the street lights. I never saw those buttons in GTA being set up to operate immediately when hit. They never open light for pedestrians if were not pushed before the pedestrian phase, even if you cross minor along main Street during enormously long phase for main. In some cases you can be forced to wait for almost 5 min... At the same time, they very often installed so inconveniently, so you have to make little journey to reach them out. Always imagine low mobility people trying to chase them... I really beleave these buttons came directly from hell, or at least were promoted by auto lobby😅.
