A user with ADHD struggles to consistently follow physical therapy exercises due to challenges with routine, task initiation, and transitions. Traditional reminders and health apps are insufficient. The request is for physical therapy apps to integrate features specifically designed to help users with ADHD maintain consistency, potentially by addressing motivation, making tasks less overwhelming, or providing novel engagement methods beyond simple reminders.
How does someone **with ADHD**, struggling with **routine**, **task initiation**, **transitions**, self-care... actually **be consistent** with physical therapy exercises ? I don't want to fool myself this time, I won't be all "*This time is different!*" and do the same thing all over again, be assiduous with my PT exercises every day for like a week, and then completely forgetting about it and my sport injuries never really getting better. Now that I'm aware I'm ADHD and my struggles are ADHD-related, I want try something different, *for realllllzzzz* While my PT was listing me all the exercises I had to do, the diet I needed to have (*enough water, enough fibres... while I struggle to not forget to eat huh*), I recall feeling so overwhelmed by the basic stuff they were showing me. Even though they are so simple! There is literally a breathing exercise, laying down. But the motivation is nowhere to be seen. I've read many advices so far but they don't sit right with me... I **know** I have to be consistent to get better. But simply knowing this is not enough to get me motivated. (Is it because deep down I don't think it's worth it because I don't truly think...I'm worth it? But that's another thing to figure out...). Putting a reminder is what I used to do. Works for a bit and then I give up easily. And makes me ashamed of my failure yay. Downloading health-related apps does the same thing... I **do** want to get better. But the task initiation and the effort needed looks like a insurmountable mountain, and it is discouraging. Any advice or tips or lived experiences to help is gladly appreciated!
