We need payment gateways that can handle small transactions for digital goods without high fees, especially for international sales. This would help us manage costs better.
Hello, I’m thinking about starting a small website that sells digital goods online and I’m trying to understand how people usually set this up… Most suppliers seem to be overseas and require wallet deposits first. Payments are usually in USD, USDT, or their local currency, and most of them don’t accept INR. From what I’ve seen, many sellers use USDT for these transactions… The market also seems very competitive and margins look quite small. Some orders can even be around ₹10, so I’m trying to figure out the most practical way to run this without losing too much to fees and taxes… A few things I’m trying to understand: 1. Do I need to register a business to start, or can I run it as an individual first? 2. Is GST required for selling digital goods online? 3. What payment gateways work best (Cashfree, Razorpay, etc.)? I’ve also seen some sellers use their own UPI merchant QR, but I’m worried about risks like fraud payments or bank freezes. 4. If suppliers prefer USD, their local currency, or USDT deposits, how do people usually send money to fund the supplier wallet?? Would appreciate any advice from people with experience in this. Thanks
